    Texas National Guard maneuvers in Louisiana. A tent city was built overnight, appetizing odors arose from cooking quarters and citizen soldiers rolled up their sleeves and went to work on piles of potatoes as 9,500 Texas National Guardsmen reached the site of their three weeks training maneuvers in the Kisatchie National Forest, near Cravens, Louisiana, last weekend. Colonel Dallas J. Matthews of San Antonio, Texas, formerly a resident of Fort Worth. He's chief of staff and commanding officer of the advance detachment of the Thirty-sixth at the maneuvers.
