Texas National Guard maneuvers in Louisiana. A tent city was built overnight, appetizing odors arose from cooking quarters and citizen soldiers rolled up their sleeves and went to work on piles of potatoes as 9,500 Texas National Guardsmen reached the site of their three weeks training maneuvers in the Kisatchie National Forest, near Cravens, Louisiana, last weekend. Privates Kenneth Kinslow (left) and Barton Hazlett of the One Hundred-eleventh Medical Regiment Band took time out to snatch a few minutes rest on a pile of hay, which subsequently was used to stuff mattresses.
