Description
The Texas State high school final game is being played Saturday, December 28, 1946 in Austin, Texas. Competing for the State Championship are the Odessa Bronchos and the Jefferson Mustangs (striped helmets) of San Antonio, Texas. Early in the game, Mustang tailback Kyle Rote (21) is shown scamper to the end zone for a six-yard touchdown. Running interference is Wilbert Heineman (11). The Odessa Bronchos went on to beat the Mustangs, winning the 1946 State Championship 21-14.
