Description
Texas National Guard maneuvers in Louisiana. Stuff 'em full and stamp 'em and stuff 'em some more is the rule of veterans for making a comfortable bed of a straw-filled canvas mattress. Rookies learn to their sorrow that a canvas bag is not always full when it looks like it. For sleeping comfort, Sergeant W. L. Turley of Stamford, Texas, member of Company K, One Hundred and Forty-Second Infantry, crams an extra handful of straw into his mattress.
