    Mrs. J. C. Baker is celebrating her eightieth birthday. Friends and family threw her a surprise party Monday, in Fort Worth, Texas. Mrs. Baker was born in 1866 near Birmingham, Alabama. Her parents moved the family to Texas the following year. Mrs. Baker was married in 1888 until her husband died in 1930. She had ten children, five living, twenty-three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Baker remains active with housework and her hobbies. She enjoys embroidery and going for walks. She is shown sitting on an armchair, wearing a dark dress.
