Description
General (Gen.) George C. Kenney (left) and Major General (Maj. Gen.) Clements McMullen are pictured here. They are shown seated in a sofa, behind them is a window with curtains. Both men are wearing military jackets. General Kenny is showing Major General McMullen a pair of yellowed ivory dice rolling into his palm. His luck held in the war against the Japanese in the Pacific when he was Far Western Air Force commander. Kenny was given this dice by a priest in Issoudun, France, in 1917 and blessed with the condition that he never use them to win money. Once he forgot to take this 'Good Luck' dice on a flight, he crashed and was injured. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, November 14, 1946.
