Description
Frantz Koestler is a painter, known for portraits of the Hapsburgs in Vienna, Austria. Recently, Mr. Koestler began painting portraits of World War II heroes. He is shown wearing a suit and hanging a painting of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. The painting depicts Admiral Nimitz in his Navy uniform with a fighter plane and ship in the background. The painting leaning against the wall, ready to hang, is of General Dwight D. Eisenhower. General Eisenhower is depicted in his military uniform, sitting at a desk and studying a map. Mr. Koestler painted the two portraits from impressions gained from photographs and briefly seeing the men. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, November 18, 1946.
