Reverend (Rev.) Garland T. Lavender is the newly appointed pastor of Englewood Heights Methodist Church. He will give his first sermon during the upcoming Sunday service. Reverend Lavender served in the Army for five years. Thirty-three months of his service were as a major-chaplain with hospital units in Naples and Rome and with the Allied Force Headquarters. Reverend Lavender received his Bachelor's degree at Southwestern University and his Bachelor of Divinity (BD) degree from Southern Methodist University. He is shown standing against a wall, dressed in a double breasted suit and tie and a pocket square. He is wearing eyeglasses. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition November 10, 1946.
