Instruments of music as well as instruments of war were in readiness Wednesday as members of the Texas National Guard prepared to leave for war maneuvers Aug. 3-24. Private of the Texas National Guard C. G. Daughtery (left), One Hundred and Eleventh Medical Regiment Band, carefully packs his trombone. Another service member puts a trumpet to his lips.
