Thompson served 29 years in the regular Army including tours of duty in Panama and the Aleutians, before retiring in March to become administrator of services to veterans for national Red Cross headquarters in Washington. He is standing against the wall. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, October 24, 1946.
