Description
Herman G. Cox, engineer and architect, was appointed by the City Council to the Zoning Board of Adjustment, filling the post vacated by the resignation of Preston M. Geren. Cox was born and grew up in Fort Worth, graduated from Texas A&M in 1928 with degrees in Civil Engineering and architecture. He served 5 years in the Army with the 176th General Service Engineers with rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He contracted malaria during his two years in the Pacific. After his return from the Pacific, he was assigned a brief period as staff engineer for the Central Flying Training Command in San Antonio and had 33 stations, including Fort Worth Army Field, under this supervision for engineering services. He is president of the Fort Worth Kennel Club. Spending much time with his hobby as dog fancier, amounted to a part time profession as licensed dog show judge for the American Kennel Club. He is married and has 3 children. He is show at his desk with a small missile as name plate. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, October 16, 1946.
