    Description

    K. M. Patterson, railroad flagman, lighting a cigarette for his friend, H. L. Warren, also a flagman, who is confined in a hospital bed at St. Joseph's Hospital. Attempting to frighten three fleeing robbers into surrender, Patterson fired his pistol and a bullet ricocheted and hit Warren. Patterson is leaning on the hospital bed with a lighted match to Warren's cigarette. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 17, 1946.
