Reverend Henry Little (left), Chicago and Reverend E. B. Surface are sitting next to each other in Hemphill Presbyterian Church for a pre-synod conference on the Church's Restoration Fund where Reverend Little is director of the Central Region of the Fund. Reverend Surface, pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church, Abilene, preached the opening sermon. He is retiring moderator of the Synod of Texas of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A., having served 55 years in the ministry. Reverend Harry Sorrels, associate minister of City Temple, Dallas succeeds him for the coming year at the 68th annual session. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 16, 1946.
