He is sitting on a desk, wearing a short-sleeve collared shirt and trousers. On the desk is a lamp and a Fort Worth, Texas, telephone directory for July of 1940. On the wall behind him is a calendar showing the month of June, 1940. The calendar advertises the Hi-Way Machinery Company and Austin-Western Road Machinery.
