Description
Thousands of Fort Worth, Texas citizens are flocking to the Fort Worth Army Air Field (FWAAF) for the "Air Force Day" demonstration. One of the airplanes on display is the P-80 Shooting Star jet-propelled fighter. It is being refueled as a crowd of people watch. The ship, famed for the "Hat-in-the-Ring" Squadron of World War I, commanded by Captain (Capt.) Eddie Rickenbacker was flown from March Field, California. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, August 2, 1946.
