Description

A herd of steer from Erath County, Texas are being sold in Fort Worth, Texas for a record price nineteen dollars per hundred pounds. The two-year-old steer averaged 1,065 pounds. Pictured behind the herd are three men standing side by side. Roy Weeman (left) and Boss Whisenant (right). Mr. Weeman bought the steer for the Swift & Company. Mr. Whisenant sold the steers. Mr. K. F. Barry fed the steers. All are wearing full sleeved shirts, trousers and hats. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 31, 1946.
