Description

Police officers John Nash and Herbert Middleton are comparing the cantaloupes grown in their gardens. Officer Nash is holding a normal Texas cantaloupe while Officer Middleton is holding a twenty-six pound monster. Middleton's cantaloupe was grown on his Mansfield, Texas farm from South African seeds. The seeds were supplied by officer Nash's step son, John Seat, U. S. minister to South Africa. Both officers are dressed in their police uniforms. They are holding their cantaloupes and laughing. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 30, 1946.
