Description
Fifty passengers are traveling on American Airlines's inaugural flight from Fort Worth, Texas to New York, New York. It is the airline's first four-engine, DC-4 flight. Pictured boarding the plane, left to right are Mrs. Marie Pinkston, Miss Margaret M. Bales, and stewardess Mrs. Helen Haasch. Mrs. Pinkston, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is dressed in a blouse that ties at the collar and a skirt. Miss Bales, of Knoxville, Tennessee, is wearing a dress and a necklace. She is carrying a magazine to read on the flight. Mrs. Haasch is dressed in her uniform and side cap. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, July 15, 1946.
