Chocolate Cake Wins First Prize in Cooking Contest -- Thirteen girls from Fort Worth Camp Fire, baked their cakes at home and entered in the cooking contest Friday morning in the Lone Star Gas Company auditorium. A chocolate cake baked by Ann Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Johnson of 3728 Crestline Road, won the top prize at the cooking contest, judged by Mrs. C. C. Grady Jr., Paschal High School, and Mrs. J. D. Works, Texas Wesleyan College (TWC). Both judges are home economics teachers. Ann Johnson is shown standing and holding her winning cake that has one slice cut out. She is smiling for the photo. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 14, 1948.
