The name of a lucky winner of the 16-day, all-expense paid trip to Brooklyn will be announced following the candidates' game. Al Zachary, pitcher for the Fort Worth Cats, is showing one of his grips to the amateurs. Front row, left to right, Bobby Mims, Amarillo, Texas; Zachary; Raymond "Rickey" Rowe, Dallas Texas; and Jack Bartholomew, Fort Worth, Texas. Behind them, same order, W. R. Parker, Memphis, Texas; Cat Pitchers George Dockins and John Van Cuyk. Zachary, Dockins, and Van Cuyk are all dressed in their Fort Worth Cats uniforms. Rowe is wearing a uniform from Sunset. Bartholomew is dressed in a baseball cap, t-shirt, and trousers. Parker is wearing his Memphis High School uniform. The group is sitting in the Cats' clubhouse.
