Description
A two-month statewide search for Texas' best 18-year-old baseball player was to reach an exciting ending Tuesday. The name of a lucky winner of the 16-day, all-expense paid trip to Brooklyn will be announced following the candidates' game. Two of the candidates participating in the game are Roger Toler, left, and Raymond Rowe. They will face off against the Fort Worth American Legion All-Stars. Three alternatives will also be named. Fort Worth Cat manager Ray Hayworth and Brooklyn Dodger scout Wild Mathews will make the selections. Mr. Toler is dressed in a baseball cap and a striped t-shirt. Mr. Rowe is wearing a baseball cap and a button-up shirt with cuffed sleeves.
