Description

The 1946 Abilene Invitation Golf Tournament is being held in Abilene, Texas. Competing for the trophy, left to right, are J. M. "Red" Cruse, H. H. Yates, Bill Gorton, and Bill Maxwell. Mr. Cruse, of San Angelo, Texas, is dressed in a hat, sunglasses, long-sleeve shirt, and trousers. Mr. Yates, of Abilene, is wearing a hat, button-up shirt with cuffed sleeves, and trousers. Mr. Gorton, of Abilene, is dressed in a hat and a collared shirt. Mr. Maxwell, of Abilene, is wearing a cap and a striped shirt. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
