Holiday Delight -- A shady seat and a sugary slice of cool watermelon -- that's a Fourth of July celebration in itself for Barbara Ann Koonce, the 5-year old, blue-eyed, blond daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Koonce of 644 Sandell. Barbara is shown seated on a table, smiling and holding a quarter slice of a large watermelon. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, July 4, 1946.
