Educated Racket -- Terrific spot shots by Dr. Fred West and his fine back court play enabled the Texas Christian University (TCU) professor to defeat Dr. Gerald Huff of Southern Methodist University (SMU) Saturday in the semifinals of the Texas Sectional Tennis Tournament at Colonial Country Club. Dr. West is shown placing a fast volley out of Dr. Huff's reach. West is on the upper court crouching with racket for volley and Huff is on the back court reaching up with is racket. West meets Jack Smith in finals of men's singles at 4 p. m. Sunday. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, June 30, 1946.
