    Description

    Slugger Yale Lary, is a fifteen year-old shortstop for North Side High School. He is one of the leading hitters in American Legion baseball. Yale is kneeling in the field. He is wearing a baseball cap, a t-shirt, baseball pants with high striped socks, and cleats. He is holding a baseball bat by the barrel. Throughout his high school career, Yale lettered in football, baseball, track, and basketball. Yale went on to play baseball and football at Texas A&M University. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1952. He played professional football for eleven years and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1979.
