A new man has entered the lives of Ida Van Blarcom Carlton and Langford Carlton. The happy family scene shows the Carlton's holding their son Langford Van. He was named after his father and Ida's late father. Langford Van was just twelve days-old when the surprise adoption took place. Mrs. Carlton is wearing a dress with a leaf pattern. She is sitting in an armchair, holding her sleeping son. Mr. Carlton is sitting on the arm of the chair with a cigar in his hand. He is dressed in a suit. There is a lamp and a fireplace behind the trio.
