Description
R. W. Kunkel, Texas & Pacific traveling passenger agent, left, and three homeward bound stranded service men, Private First Class Edmond Heard, Vinita, Oklahoma, ex-sailor G. N. Hardaway, Shreveport, Louisiana; and Private First Class James Cox, Peru, Indiana, who got to Fort Worth by rail. Kunkel is standing behind the desk at Texas & Pacific Station as he attends the stranded servicemen in endorsing their tickets so that they can continue their journey on bus. Kunkel is wearing a suit and the three servicemen are wearing their respective uniforms. The desk has drawers and shelves at the bottom. There is a briefcase under the desk. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, May 25, 1946.
