Description

Striking machinists and the Convair management signed a new contract at Hotel Texas. Seated, left to right, C. Z. Lindsey, International Association of Machinists (IAM) representative, John; F. Foster, Jr., IAM district president; John M. Hassler, plant industrial relations director, and L. M. Fagan, IAM representative. Standing left to right, W. O. Wood, E. J. McCann and J. C. Johnson, strike committeemen; M. S. Sims, lodge business agent, Earl Melton, IAM general vice president. Roland G. Mayer, Fort Worth division manager of Convair, had signed previously. In the image, all men gathered at the table signing the contract. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, May 18, 1946.
