Petra Ortega, 9, a second grade student at Katy Lake, won a special award in the children's art exhibit in the gallery of the Public Library for his colorful water color. The painting is of two children, one girl and a boy, wearing shirts and overalls, holding baskets to gather eggs are walking towards a chicken coop. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, May 19, 1946.
