Gold Star Mother Mrs. J. R. Moore Senior (Sr.), left, is receiving a basket of flowers sent by J. D. Albin in memory of his own son, Seabee Jeff Davis Albin. Standing are Mrs. Albin, right and center, Mrs. W. C. O'Briant, president of the Gold Star Mothers of Tarrant County. Mrs. Moore's son, Marine Sergeant (Sgt.) J. R. Moore Junior (Jr.), was killed in June 1943 on Saipan. Mrs. Moore is in a wheelchair. She is wearing a patterned dress, a necklace and smiling at Mrs. Albin. Mrs. Albin and Mrs. O'Briant are wearing dresses and hats. There are three framed pictures of military personnel on the top of a piano. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, May 14, 1946.
