Description
A bumper crop of young, pint-sized tennis stars is playing on the park courts. Some aren't even in junior high school as yet, but they are taking up the game early. Twelve-year-old Shirley Farmer of George Clarke Elementary School will be a striking picture on the court when she is a few years older. Perhaps the Recreation Department will need junior boy and girl tennis leagues to go with its summer baseball program. In this picture, Shirley Farmer stands in the back on the left side next to a young boy who is holding a tennis racket. There are two boys sitting in front of them. They are all looking slightly right and posing for a picture. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, evening edition, May 4, 1946.
