Description

The high school girls' doubles tennis final is being held Thursday afternoon at Capps Park. On the left side of the net, competing for the Paschal Panthers, are Bonnie Beaton and Jo Ann Webb. On the right side, for the North Side Steers, are Bobby Jean Burks and her partner Shirley Munden (not pictured). Both Panthers are shown playing at the net. Jo Ann is alertly placing a backhand lob just beyond the reach of her opponent. The shot started the Panthers toward a second-set victory in the finals. Paschal won 4-6, 6-1, and 7-5.
