Vernon Bland is a left-handed pitcher for Fort Worth Technical High School. He is the son of LaGrave Field groundskeeper Ezra. The southpaw will be one of Tech's starting pitchers when the city high school league opens play on April 16, 1946. Bland is shown standing on the rubber, entering his big windup. He is dressed in a baseball uniform.
