Description
Blue-eyed Anita Eloise Nolan celebrating her eighth birthday. She is in the 2nd grade at Our Lady of Victory Academy and lives with her mother. She is sitting at the end of the dinning table with a birthday cake. The occasion marked the fifth anniversary that she has observed with out her father Captain Willis Nolan who is 7,000 miles away. Gifts that arrived in the mail, however, spoke of him - all the way from Southern Honshu Island Japan. Captain Nolan has been in Japan for three months and was previously stationed in Alaska for 18 months. He is a graduate of Texas A & M College, and formerly assistant county agent with the Soil Conservation Service here for two years. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, March 1, 1946.
