Description
A giant crane lifts tons of dirt daily in the process of re-channeling Village and Rush Creeks from which flash floods have caused thousands of motorists to detour the 1.9 mile section of U.S. Highway 80 between Handley and Arlington. The concrete post will be a pillar for one of six new bridges. The top of the pillar will be the highway elevation. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 25, 1946.
