Description

If those professional offers may be used as a criterion, Fort Worth's Jo Kennedy must be one of the best women softball pitchers in these parts. Good as she is, though, Jo can't go on forever. The most likely candidate to succeed Kennedy , when her blazing fast ball begins to lose its smoke, is Elsie Shannon. Elsie is making rapid strides. Last season, she divided time on the mound with Kennedy for Globe's jam-up aggregation. The records show that in 1945 they each won some 26 games and each lost four. All Globe players except Pitchers Kennedy and Shannon will wear the blue and fuchsia uniforms. The pitchers pretend to make it easier for the hitters by wearing black uniforms. In this picture, Shannon is standing against the wall and facing slightly left. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 23, 1946.
