Description

Portrait of Inga Arvad, a native of Denmark and brand new American citizen, can tell fascinating stories of her career as a newspaper woman and writer in the big cities of the world but prefers to talk about "Duel in the Sun", the David O. Selznick technicolor picture with a cast that reads like "Who's Who in Hollywood". She arrived in Fort Worth as one of the four widely publicized glamour girl press agents for the forthcoming picture which will have its world premier in Texas. She speaks four languages, was educated in Europe and began her newspaper career in Copenhagen. When she came to the United States a few years ago she enrolled at Columbia University and obtained a degree in journalism. She did feature assignments for the North American Newspaper Alliance for a time and in 1941 went to Washington to write a column of "Personality Sketches" on prominent personages, for the Washington Times Herald. Later she when to Hollywood and wrote a column which was syndicated in 80 papers. She also did freelance articles for Colliers and other magazines. On her travels Miss Arvad is carrying a "saddle bag", a roomy brief case designed on saddle bad lines which can be carried over the arm and contains numerous compartments for publicity material, large pictures, mats and personal items. The bag is decorated with the Spanish Bit, a brand featured in "Duel in the Sun". Preparing to leave for Houston, Miss Arvad made a last observation on Texas, "I was told Texas is flat, but it isn't, it rolls". Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 19, 1946.
