    Description

    Two new county jailers, Marine Corps veterans, were announced Friday by Sheriff Rhodes. William E. Leath, 34, left, discharged a year ago after 32 months duty. He participated in the Guadalcanal, Bougainville and Guam campaigns. He replaces F. W. Thornburgh, who has been fifth floor jailer. Lee Manning, 27, right, served eight and one-half years in the Marines, will take over sixth floor duties. He was with the provost Marshall's office in Honolulu. He replaces Luther Sheriff. The men are standing next to each other in front of a jail cell. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 1, 1946.
