Description
W. W. (Mike) O'Farrell, Democratic nomination for commissioner of Precinct 2. He will seek the place on Commissioners Court held by Joe Thannisch who announced his candidacy for re-election to a seventh term. O'Farrell is a construction superintendent for 20 years and a veteran of both world wars. In his WWII service as warrant officer in the Seabess, he was stationed at Pear Harbor for 11 months. His wife First Lieutenant Frances O'Farrell served 25 months in the European Theater Operations. His construction experience includes six years with the city engineering department. He was senior construction officer on the reception center at Camp Wolters and the USO at Sheppard Field. He also served as estimator and assistant superintended for private contractors building several military camps and air bases. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 30, 1946.
