Description
Cadet Colonel Joe C. Holmstrom, 16, Arlington Heights High School senior, was named as regimental commander of the local Reserve Officer's Training Corps (ROTC) unit after scoring of competitive examinations with four other cadet officers. He has had five years of ROTC work, holding parade medals and expert rifleman's award. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Holmstrom. He plans to continue his military training at A&M College after his graduation. Holmstrom in uniform stands at attention by a bare wall. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 30, 1946.
