    Description

Roy Wages, 20, veteran of two-and-a-half years' service in the Navy, is believed to be the first ex-service man to enroll in regular high school classes in the Fort Worth schools and receive his diploma. He will graduate from North Side High School next Tuesday night. He is shown standing against a bare wall and wearing a leather jacket and trousers. He worked as a radioman-gunner and participated in the battles at Saipan, Leyte and Iwo Jima. After graduation he plans to enter some air college and learn to fly and other phases of aviation. He and his wife live at the home of his mother, Mrs. Love Gilmore. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 24, 1946.
