Shown here is a bust shot of Virgil L. Kennedy. He is wearing a suit and tie, standing against a bare wall and smiling for the camera. After three and a half years in the Navy he has returned to a civilian job here in Fort Worth, Texas. Kennedy, former storekeeper first class, was assigned to an Landing Craft Infantry (LCI) in May 1944 at Solomons, Maryland. He sailed down the Atlantic Coast, through the Panama Canal, up the West Coast and then across the Pacific to make the invasion of Leyte. He has just begun working for the Fort Worth Artificial Limb Company. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 28, 1946.
