Description
United States Army 36th Infantry Division's first after war reunion held in Brownwood, Texas. On the reviewing stand are(left to right) Major General John E. Dahlquist, who took the division through France and into Germany; Major General Claude V. Birkhead, commander when the division was activated on November 25, 1940; Major General Fred L. Walker, who took the division from Camp Bowie through Africa and Italy, and Lieutenant General Walton H. Walker, commanding general, 8th Service Command. A portion of Loop 12 in Dallas County was later named after Lieutenant General Walker. Behind the reviewing stand is a brick building with windows and a large clock attached to one side. The building is festooned with flags and bunting. All of the gentlemen, with the exception of Major General Walker, are wearing military uniforms, all with service medals an bars. Major General Walker is wearing a light double breasted suit with a tie and hat.
