William James Junior High The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) sponsors left to right, Mildred Ann Smith, faculty sponsor; Peggy Connelly, Company E; Betty Jean Gage, Company F; and Kathryn Mortensen, Company G. The sponsors have honorary commissions as majors. With the help of their faculty advisor, Lieutenant Colonel Smith, the ninth grade girls gave a Christmas dance for the cadets at school. They are standing in a row looking to the left, wearing their ROTC uniforms. The parents are respectively, Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Connelly; Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Gage; and Mr. and Mrs. A. Mortensen.
