Description
The Fort Worth Boat Club hosted a "Shipwreck Party," to entertain visitors from the Houston Yacht Club, in which partygoers dressed as shipwreck victims. Among those at the event were John Farrell, left, and Charlie A. Benson, right, president of the Fort Worth Boat Club. Farrell is wearing a long-sleeve pajama shirt and pajama pants, sandals, a bowler hat and a monocle. He is holding a life preserver on his left arm, a bottle in his left hand and a closed umbrella in his right hand. Benson is wearing a robe made of burlap and a sailor's hat, and has burlap wrapped around his feet in place of shoes. He is smoking a cigar and is holding up an oil lamp in his right hand.
