Description
N. N. Andres, Navy veteran is pictured here. He is the former fiscal director for the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital and served in the navy as a chief pharmacist's mate. He told a story of how he found a copy of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in a Japanese camp where no allied forces had been in four years. He never did figure out how the newspaper made it to the Japanese camp but he was happy for the news from home even if the paper was dated a year earlier. Mr. Andres is wearing a three piece suit and standing in an at ease position. He returned to the United States and met here with Mrs. Andres, who has been working in Washington while he was in the Navy. They are looking for apartment. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, December 30, 1945.
