Description
A southbound Southern Pacific railroad train plowed into a truck Thursday night at South Pecan Street. The cab was bashed in and a load of 150 cedar posts were strewn along the tracks. The passengers, two men from Henrietta, Texas, miraculously escaped the crash with minor injuries. Johnny Smith, 21, was cut and bruised. John Henry Roberts, 23, suffered a cut on his arm and a bruised forehead. Their small dog, Corky, was unharmed. The remains of the truck are shown at the railroad crossing.
