Exchange Club J. A. (Tiny) Gooch, center, handing football to H. L. McGurk, left, purchaser, and Rufus S. Garrett, right, at a luncheon held at the Fort Worth Club. The Exchange Club set a new high mark for their contributions to the Star-Telegram Goodfellows and the Fort Worth Press Santa Pals, Christmas funds. Mr. Gooch serves as auctioneer of the Texas Christian University (TCU.) football. He is wearing a three piece suit and holding the auctioned item. The ball was signed by the 1945 TCU football team. Mr. Garrett is the outgoing Exchange president. He is wearing a double breasted pinstripe suit. Mr. McGurk, the lucky bidder agreed to donate the football to Lena Pope Home to inspire youngsters. He is wearing a pinstripe suit. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 20, 1945.
