    Enjoying the North Side-Highland Park football game at Farrington Field were two Navy shipmates who were captured at Corregidor and spent three years and seven months in Japanese prison camps. Chief Commissary Steward L. W. Whitworth, center, is shown with Ship's Cook First Class Robert Bickley, right, and Miss Ruth Dorsey, both of Fort Worth, Texas. Whitworth and Bickley are wearing their Navy uniforms. Miss Dorsey is wearing a dress and a fur coat.
