Presiding officers at the Oil Workers International Union (OWIU) convention, which opened at Hotel Texas, are, left to right, O. A. Knight, OWIU, Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) president and E. Carl Mattern, center, of Austin, Texas, vice president of the OWIU and executive secretary of the state CIO. On the right is W. B. Taylor, CIO national director of organization for the OWIU. All three men are wearing suits.
